Painted mason jars are a popular theme in the DIY arena. These cute painted mason jars would also work for flower vases, pin wheels and/or flags.

Another inexpensive easy project is to paint plastic or clay pots to hold items such as napkins and condiments.  Make different styles to use for patio plants or  table arrangements.

 I just love the draping over the fence and the little tricycle puts the finishing touch on patriotic. I found this picture on google and do not have a source.

Create this patriotic wonder: Ingredients:  1 1/4 oz. vodka, 1 oz. lemon juice, 1 1/4 oz blue curacao, 3/4 oz. grenadine and a splash of simple syrup.

In layers, pour the grenadine then the blue Curacao and finally the vodka.
