Caribbean Style
Part 1: How
to add a touch of the tropical island to your indoor and/or outdoor living
space.
Design Seeds offers a large selection of beautiful color schemes.
Do you ever just want to get away? Don’t we all! Escaping to
a tropical island where the beaches are white, the ocean | sea is the clearest shade
of blue, and the flora is always in bloom.
It is not beyond the possibility of reality. When you decorate your living space with a Caribbean
Interior Style you can create that comfortable, carefree feeling of the
Caribbean.
The Caribbean style has exquisite colors, introducing the
style into your home or creating an outdoor oasis is easy.
Simply add a collection of pillows to your room to brighten it up and bring it to life.
Here in America we tend to infuse our homes with neutral
colors such as creams and taupe’s. Many
seaside cottages are primarily white on white. If you are faint of heart when
it comes to color, use the 60, 30, 10 rule of interior color schemes (see blog
60 30 10 rule) you will find it easy to incorporate color into your room while
staying with the tried and true neutral tones.
So just go a little bit bolder with your accent pieces. If you have an
accent chair or area rug, make sure that it’s a really fun material,
incorporate fun lamps and wall hangings. Make sure that it’s got a bold texture
to it and/or a pattern. Although similar
to Seaside | Coastal Interior Design, the Caribbean style sets itself apart with
an abundant palette of colors – that are as vibrant as your creativity will
allow.
If you want to do the authentic Caribbean Style rather than
only adding accent piece then you will want to watch for Caribbean Style part
two: Going Caribbean
