I found this fun cake on Pinterest by Dolce Imagination Cakes.
What a great cake for any nautical or seaside themed party.

One of my favorite healthy desserts is simple and refreshing on a hot day!
Simply cut jicama and watermelon into star shapes and add your blueberries.
Add small flags and serve whip cream on the side.

Jars, vases and bowls are a beautiful way to display your shells.  Mix holiday or seasonal items with the shells.  I also love to add strings of pearls weaved into the shells.

I made this beautiful candle (below) with shells I collected.
I also created one that is variegated from blue to white.  This was an easy project using a candle cylinder.
As shown on the left I display these candles with sand and a few shells.

These wooden flags are fabulous, I love the idea of using faux starfish for the stars.

I love collecting treasures as I stroll along the beach.  What do you do with your seaside treasures?  The next three series of blogs will be DIY Projects and Craft ideas to turn your treasures into beautiful pieces you can proudly display.

Part I ~ Driftwood, Part II ~ Seashells and Part III ~ Sea Glass.  If you have a DIY project that you would like to share with us please feel free to put it in the comments below or post it on my Facebook page.

To some this may just look like a pile of debris! I see sea shells, driftwood and treasures from the deep blue sea. What do you see?

I love this room, starting with the beautiful table base made from a tree root that has been weathered by the force of water.  Then the beautiful drift wood wall hanging.  Bringing nature inside creates such uniqueness.

Simple but lovely chime made from weathered driftwood.  This would be easy to add seashells or sea glass to.  Click on the source for detailed instructions.  Source

This candle holder is gorgeous!  It would be beautiful out on the patio table.

Bring the beach inside with this stunning mirror.

This driftwood wall art really shows the unique beauty in each piece of driftwood.  This project would be like putting together a puzzle.

Coastal Decorating with
Classic Navy Blue ~ part II

In the previous Blog part I of II we displayed rooms and decorating ideas using Classic Navy and Crisp White, Navy & Red and Navy & Green.

Navy blue is the color that pairs well with other colors.  Its uncommon uniqueness allows you to use it as a neutral or an accent to create a classic coastal look indoors or outdoors.

Today we are going to demonstrate the versatile Navy Blue paired with Yellow and then with Coral.

Navy Blue with splashes of yellow brings the sunshine indoors year round!

From the front door through the interior Coral and Pink hues paired with Classic Navy creates an inviting and relaxing atmosphere.

I found these painted mason jars on google images and thought it would be a great idea for table decor or just to set on the stoop welcoming your guests.

This room looks so relaxing!  The combination of Navy and Corals has just the right balance of color.
