Stylish Condo | Cottage Decorating
I have had a few questions from clients who have purchased a summer cottage, are down sizing for their retirement and/or moving into a coastal condo that has much less space then they are use to having. I am here to assist and inspire you with small space solutions and tips.
Small Spaces does not mean you cannot have Big Design!
This beach side condo has several fun patterns, textures while offering functionality.
First note the stripes make your eyes go up as does the white ceiling and the tall hutch.
The various patterns are used to define each room.
TIP: Go Vertical: Use that valuable space up to the ceiling.
The built in shelf on this wall draws the eye up providing the illusion of a larger space.
Tip: Choose Multi
Functional!
Look for multi functional
items, coffee/end table, beds and/or benches with storage.
Using pieces that are multi functional is a huge asset to creating style with function.
The trunk works as a coffee table and storage for blankets or books. The wall sconces free up table space for your treasures, while providing light for your reading pleasure. Sectional sofas do not have to be huge, choose an upholstered version.
Maximize every small space in your home with expert
decorating ideas and
storage solutions.
Tips: mirrors reflect light, which makes the tiny
space look larger.
This Beach Cottage is so much fun! The white on white tricks the eye into enlarging the space. The style pops with colors of coral and turquoise.
Tiny spaces don’t have to sacrifice comfort or cool.
Tip: Scale and proportion
are the two key ingredients to pulling off a small space.
Stick to compact
furniture to keep the room balanced.
This coastal cottage found in Coastal Living is so cute. It offers a lot of windows to open up the room, the low backed chairs are proportionate to the room size. The long narrow table and the fun blue and red door add so much to the coastal charm.
TIP: Extend your living area to the outside
Great tips! Love the color combinations, too!
